Many thanks for those, Mark What on earth happened to the LibDem vote in that Ipswich seat, then?? The 2012 result was similarly very poor in that ward for the Lib Dems , Certainly one of the worst LD results . Some of the other LD losses were much better defences particularly Balsham in South Cambs and Cheltenham Warden Hill although the latter seems to have had a false result recorded in 2012 because a whole ballot box went uncounted . Strange too how Labour failed to gain the Witney seat which they won last time yet won a CC seat in Witney .

Con 24, Ind 10, LD 2, Lab 7, Grn 1, UKIP 2, No Political Affiliation 3, Independent (not part of the Independent group) 1. I don't know of very many councils where's there's an Independent Group, a group of Independents, and a grouping of non-Independent Independents ! Prior to 2011's election, when the whole Council was elected on new boundaries, Stoke-on-Trent had a City Independent Group, a Conservative and Independent Alliance Group, a Christian Independent, a Libertarian Independent, a No Party member, and the Potteries Alliance which was largely formed by the merger in 2010 of two separate groups of Councillors who had either resigned or been expelled from the Labour Party over about a decade.

I can't find the detailed result on the council website but their twitter feed says "Rushcliffe Borough Council election results for Leake ward. John Thurman elected. Tory. 793 votes. 37.2% turnout."
