No change in numbers, but lots of drama at the count. Lib Dem gain St Marks from Tory. The defeated Tory councillor had previously defected from the LD’s. Labour held the four seats they were defending. Wellington and Cherrywood lost to the Tories in 2021, were seen as automatic Tory gains. Both held by Labour, and seen as Labour gains. Tories held seats with majority, slashed from hundreds to double figures.

Compared to the last time these seats were contested in 2018. 4 of Aldershot's 5 seats swing to the Tories. The swing from Con to Lab in Rowhill was 5.6%
Biggest swing to Labour was 17.4% in St John's. Biggest swing from Labour to the Tories was 4.4% in West Heath.
Swing from Con to Lab 1) St Johns 17.4% 2) Fernhill 7.1% 3) Rowhill 5.6% 4) Knellwood 5.0% 5) Cove & Southwood 3.8% 6) Empress 3.2%
Swing Lab to Con 1) St Mark's 4.6% (down to Labour voters voting LD) 2) West Heath 4.4% 3) Cherrywood 2.8% 4) North Town 2.4% 5) Manor Park 1.8% 6) Wellington 0.3% 7) Aldershot Park 0.3%
You also have to consider these swings against a national swing of around 3% from Conservative to Labour since 2018.
