That would involve most of us having wifes and a survey on this site suggested many of us well don't. Perhaps you would set out the conjugation tables for your compound verb To Well Do? I well do You well do He well does Leading to the negative compounds such as We well don't ...most of us [awkward shuffle] well [um] [checks notes] don't. It was a light hearted attempt at a joke referencing Johnny Mercer's tweet a while back and this forum being somewhat well represented by members of the LGBT community (of which I'm one). If you didn't get my joke, don't fine it funny, or frankly think I'm a waste of space do please feel free to ignore me. I ignore you most of the time.

I knew what you meant as well as what you said and why you said it. I too was having a bit of amusement. I do ignore you much of the time. I won't fine you.

Or indeed the suggestion that some of us may be guilty of bigamy for having wives... There is just so much time in a day Tony; even for a retired old chap with time on his hands.

Oh! Hard luck! Happens to me all the time. I now just say to the waiter "Look, just show it a picture of flames." My foodie son has now educated me to take my steaks "medium". He goes for "medium rare". Though I prefer fish. We once had our office Xmas lunch at Marco Pierre White's in Glasgow. It has a reputation for good steaks. I chose the hake. Aside: MPW has to be one of the most vain men around. There are lots of photographs in his restaurant. Everyone of them is of him.

Warrington North? Definitely in the 'ramped' category What's going on? I think it is due to the Warrington address given in the Statement of Persons Nominated while she was still living in Islington.

Warrington North? Definitely in the 'ramped' category What's going on? MP gave her Agent’s Warrington address on her nomination form in 2019 whilst residing in Islington. Cheshire Police are having a hissy fit as their investigation is out of time and have been denied an extension on the grounds of securing a conviction is unlikely. A formal complaint has apparently now been lodged to the Electoral Commission.

Ever heard the story of the HQ in Chester that their predecessors built? Quite silly.

Has the law on this changed (beyond being able to conceal your precise address)? It used not to be unusual for someone to rent a property in the constituency to act as their campaign domestic base. However since she was a last-minute candidate her arrangement is looser than that.

Certainly it was decided there was insufficient evidence to prosecute Nuttall after the Stoke Central by-election and Michael Crick’s report of the empty house, which is likely why Cheshire Police have been denied an extension.

Have seen that but it’s very biased and seems out of touch with precedent; the Nuttall case would seem to suggest there’s a very high bar for proving someone isn’t living where they claim to be on their nomination form. It would be a massive thing, particularly in a snap election, to enforce. I’ve only ever met one Lib Dem candidate for Stoke South since I first volunteered in 1987, and from reports in The Sentinel Jo Gideon’s debut in Stoke Central in 2019 was at the count, and she only moved to the constituency this year.

The law allows a candidate to conceal their precise address from the public but in that case it will still show which parliamentary constituency their address is in.

The Electoral Commission being a body which can do absolutely nothing about it.
A candidate knowingly giving a false address is not normally the most serious offence in elections. It only tends to be prosecuted if, by doing so, the candidate is falsely claiming to be qualified for election - which is not the case here.
