I think that makes it a five seat Labour majority now, when a hung council was elected there back in 2012.

Not quite a defection bu probably done a bit of damage That's a pretty impressive critique, but what does "forbye" mean? Scottish construction?

Thank you Your Grace. For those who do not know her or of her, Geva Blackett is or was an English High Tory whose younger brother to her chagrin got the title and seat in the Lords, around the time that most of them lost them. I met her online and she sent Ben Wallace to meet me resulting in me joining the Conservative party. Her political ambitions within the party were thwarted and she defected, to much surprise, to the SNP. She became the first SNP councilor for Upper Deeside, which includes Balmoral. It is common to denounce defections of councilors as unprincipled and self-serving, and I have to insist that this is not true in this instance. It was her original joining of the SNP that was unprincipled and self-serving. She has now reverted to type over a genuine matter of principle, she is a Countryside Alliance supporter and worked for its Scottish Landowners front body the Gamekeepers Association. I had her down as a possible defector to Alba but her defection at this time may well indicate that she has no intention of defending her seat. I rather like Geva. With her having the passionate views you describe, her being an independence supporter is odd, is it not? I have no doubt that the SNP and their allies, and Alba enemies, would seek to destroy hunting, shooting and fishing communities, as well as tear the estates asunder, should this country ever make the mistake of becoming independent.

Before they made the more recent big inroads into Glasgow and the surrounding areas the SNP’s main strength was in traditional Tory areas

Now they are 3 of the Scottish Tories' 6 Westminster seats. They’d only ever won a Glasgow seat in by elections before until quite recently, all previous times they lost them again at general elections, similar with seats in Lanarkshire etc I believe? Now those are pretty much safe SNP seats, albeit Scottish politics can be volatile anywhere as 2017 showed
