I intend to make Bracknell my next profile. Will you be employing a Hand - B-a-a-a-a-a-g! And will it involve Worthing?

No, but I shall be using my psephological prism to focus on the constituency in earnest.

I’m sure Robert Waller has his own list, but with all the census, boundary, and notional updates, the outstanding list has disappeared from sight, so I’m returning it to the top of the list

England now has a complete set of profiles, although some of them are distinctly sub-optimal.

England now has a complete set of profiles, although some of them are distinctly sub-optimal. I intend to tackle some of the constituencies where John Chanin has deemed the current profiles a bit thin, though I shall also endeavour to clarify the situation regarding the four remaining Scottish absentees, and continue with the 2021 census material as well.

Where do I find which constituencies you think are sub-optimal John? It's possible I may be able to help out

I think I understand what you mean but a specific list would be useful

I think I understand what you mean but a specific list would be useful Well, one place to start is John's regional 'outstanding profiles' threads, where he lists some specifically. Off the top of my head, I recall the three Nottingham seats, Norwich South, Lewisham Deptford and Portsmouth South. Because of my doctoral thesis, I am in a decent position to add full profiles for Nottingham, but I don't have any specific qualification for Norwich South and Portsmouth South; indeed as I did Norwich North I'd appreciate a different view on its companion. John has also mentioned seats in Suffolk as well.

I don't think I'm qualified to write good profiles of any of the seats mentioned. I have, however, written a profile of the new proposed Manchester Rusholme constituency, and will follow this by attempting Gorton & Denton; I will also have to rewrite Manchester Central because of boundary changes.

I have, however, written a profile of the new proposed Manchester Rusholme constituency, and will follow this by attempting Gorton & Denton; I will also have to rewrite Manchester Central because of boundary changes. That's fine, and also for the time being at least to place them within the existing threads on this board. If and when the Boundary Commission report is passed into law I am going to suggest starting a separate 'Vote UK Almanac new seat' board for the seats that will be fought in the next election, together with their census stats and possibly candidates. This is not really starting again from scratch as there is a lot of material that can be copied across, such as your new profiles (and Pete's notionals etc), so that is why there is no problem starting them now, here. However I do see another opportunity there for improving quite a few of the existing profiles. My guess is that we will have at least a year, maybe more, to work on such a new set, between approval and the actual election. But there seems no point in actually starting new threads until we know the new seats will definitely come into existence.
