I will say it again - the USA is not a properly functioning democracy.

Don't they have post boxes in the United States?

Just a side observation on how voting is manipulated in certain areas of the US depending on certain criteria and this is nothing more than a single observation of how whichever governing party it is deals with vote manipulation, 2 years ago I submitted my voter registration to the local office in Austin TX for the Beto election against Cruz, in the very same envelope I included my wife's' application. Both in the same envelope and by registered mail....I am a bit older than my wife and to all intents and purposes would fit into the demographic more likely to vote GOP, my wife is younger and fits into the likely demographic of a Democrat voter. Surprise surprise, my voter card came back in plenty time and my vote counted, her vote was declared invalid as the voter registration "was not sent in on time". I followed up and was told privately the clerks were told to process applications from age downwards... not illegal but certainly immoral. As they say here its not important who votes, its important who counts them.

Don't they have post boxes in the United States? Good one, although post boxes aren't helpful if your postal vote application form never arrives...

Don't they have post boxes in the United States? There has been multiple reports that many were removed from minority areas through USA.

All the scheduled ads were apparently attack ads. They may not have thought replacing them 1:1 with different types of ads was worth the money. Cancelling ads happens frequently and they're often replaced by different ad buys, so it's not necessarily strategically important. Anyway, GOTV efforts are arguably more important in TX than tv-ads. Are there any other kind nowdays? Edit: i can't be arsed to quote the tweet, but the Medium buying peeps on Twitter are no saying that Biden has advertising booked for 13th Oct in Texas, so maybe you were right nelsonBiden is going to spend big in Texas if for no other reason than he has so much money that he can afford to. Trump is basically broke and needs every penny he has got in the core battle ground sates so can't afford to spend anything significant defending states like Texas.

You just look who wrote it - & understand But he is picking up a theme from Goppers, democracy is only important if you win (by whatever means). If you are going to lose, then bye bye one person one vote.

I don't imagine Senator Mike Lee spends any time of 4Chan. It's the standard constitutional conservative view in the US Don't take me for an idiot, he (and you) are calling for disruption of the election via voter suppression, phony investigations and tossing of ballots using airy-fairy "constitutional" bullshit to justify it. This isn't some defence of representative rather than direct democracy, it's a signal that he and the rest of the GOP will try to mess about with the result of the election if they lose. A least he is being honest this time.

Plenty of examples from Latin America and Africa of demagogues whipping up mobs and manipulating barely literate voters in order to grab power and go on to wreck their countries. Robert Mugabe and Hugo Chavez are two of the most famous examples but there have been plenty of others. We see the same today in the US today violent and lawless demagoguery of the BLM movement, heavily promoted by the Democrats. Having safeguards against a Venezuela type outcome is not a bad thing Voter supression isn't "safeguarding democracy".

It’s very telling that this rage against democracy is coming a month away from the election with polls the way they are. US constitutional conservative critiques of democracy are not new. Furthermore they tend to be quite measured and polite compared to some of the howling rage against antimajoritarianism you see from the Democrat side. You just don't notice the latter because you take it for granted Well of course it’s not new. But that doesn’t stop it from being wrong – a look through the Federalist Papers reveals that Madison in particular was quite enamoured with the idea of representative democracy. What we're talking about is a sitting US senator making trite arguments against democracy mere weeks from his party taking what looks to be an almighty beating. As for the Democrats being antimajoritarian, I don’t know, they’re not the ones who have lost the national popular vote in six of the last seven elections…

The Democrat party are not antimajoritarian, they're against antimajoritarianism. Doubleplusungood!
