Nice idea,Alien, but a bit daunting for the likes of Carlton and myself if we have to look back over 8 decades of electoral records! Also I'm in the midst of sorting out Canterbury for the profile there, so I'll promise to look at it in depth once I've finished with Canterbury.

Okay, phrased that badly, Pete. I have lived in different wards over eight decades and that's a lot of places to look up who is the current councillor. Yes, looking up who was then the councillor in the Yeovil ward where I was born in 1939, say, would be a task of a different order of magnitude altogether- interesting , but no I didn't think I needed to do that! Looking up what that ward is now called and who are the current councillors will be challenge enough.

Throughout my life I've been a resident of the following local authorities: Derbyshire County Council; High Peak District Council (1991-1993) - Moved outGwynedd County Council; Aberconwy District Council (1993-1996) - Local Government reorganisation in 1995Conwy County Borough Council (Unitary) (1996-present) My problem is that whilst finding past election results is easy enough thanks to the Elections Centre website, for the Derbyshire C.C. and the High Peak D.C. results there have been boundary changes since the time I lived there, so I don't know which ward/division corresponds to where I lived. On current boundaries my former residence would be located in the Hadfield South ward on the High Peak D.C., and the Etherow division on the Derbyshire C.C. (both currently held by Labour); if anyone can assist me in finding out what ward/division covered that general area back in the early 1990s, I would appreciate it. In North Wales, despite the more radical mucking about with local government during the mid 1990s, the local government ward/division boundaries saw little change between 1993 and now, at least for where I live: 1993-1996: Llansanffraid division (Gwynedd C.C.) - 1 Lib Dem 1993-1996: Bryn Rhys ward (Aberconwy C.C.) - 1 Labour (switched to Independent as some point between 1993 and 1995, but I'm unsure when) Local government changes saw the creation of the Conwy C.B.C. from the Aberconwy and the Colwyn District councils1996-2017: Llansanffraid division (Conwy UA) - 1 Independent (N.B. served as a Lib Dem for a undetermined period between 1999 & 2008, standing the party's colours in 2004) 2017-pres: Llansanffraid division (Conwy UA) - 1 Independent (but a different one )

I would have 3 Labour and 3 Liberal Democrat councillors (one of these is a county councillor). If you add up the votes for each party in each ward I've lived (at their last local elections), you get a close marginal: Liberal Democrat: 1,184 (36.3%) Labour: 1,131 (34.7%) Conservative: 584 (17.9%) Green: 363 (11.1%)
Didn't think of adding up the votes, but given the size of Fulwood ward the Liberal Democrats would definitely get most votes despite only fielding 4 candidates overall to Labours full slate of 11.

Can we include county councillors and parish councillors? Anyway: Broadstone, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole UA: LD 2 St. Peter's, Thanet DC: Con 2, Grn 1 Broadstairs, Kent CC: Con 1 Broadstairs and St. Peter's Town Council: Con 3, Grn 1 Bridlington North, East Riding of Yorkshire UA: Con 2, LD 1 Bridlington Town Council: Ind 2, Con 1, LD 1 Royds, Bradford MDC: Lab 3 Queensbury, Bradford MDC: Con 2, Ind 1 Shipley, Bradford MDC: Grn 2, Lab 1 Baildon, Bradford MDC: Con 3 Baildon South, Baildon Town Council: Your Local Community Candidate 1, Better Services for Baildon South 1
Why not.
I think that would add 4 Conservatives for me from the Community Council in LLantwit Fardre making an overall total of
8 Consevatives 4 Labour 3 Liberal Democrats

Let's see if I can work this out.
Growing up, Hillsborough, Sheffield: currently 3xLab; while I was there 3xLab, trending to 3xCon, trending back to 3xLab. University, Stirling North, Stirling: currently 2xSNP, 1xLab, 1xCon; while I was there I think it was 1xLab. Kwun Tong, Hong Kong: currently 1xInd DC; while I was there 1xDem RC, 1xInd DC. Walkley, Sheffield: currently 3xLab; previously 3xLD inc. me, previously mix of 1Lab+1LD/2Lab+1LD inc. me West Cliff, Whitby: currently 1xCon CC, 1xCon+1xLab DC, 1xMe+1xInd TC; previously 1xCon CC, 2xCon DC, 1xMe TC.
So the current state is: 8xLab, 3xCon, 2xInd, 1xMe

My ward was always independent before the current ridiculous STV system was brought in. In fact, The representation has not changed since 2007 when the system has been brought in. Although there have been defections in between elections - the equilibrium has always been restored.
Current councillors are:
Kirsten Currie (SNP) Linda Munro (Lib Dem) Hugh Morrison (Independent)
FWIW none of them are much good for anything and rarely give our area much attention. The STV wards are ridiculously large which results in NW Sutherland getting shafted as usual.

Croydon: 1 Conservative (one of only c.4 single-member wards in Greater London) Harrow: 3 Conservative
University: don't know without checking, but probably Conservative for the district council and possibly Independent or Resident for the County Council. In 1993 I voted for the Independent Residents' Association (IRA) but I don't know what it is now.

My best shot at this: 1939-57 Yeovil, now College ward: LDx3 1957-8 Exeter, now Pinhoe ward: Lab 1958-60 Exeter, now Duryard & St James ward: LD 1960-1 Reading, now Church ward: Lab 1961Sept-Dec, Waltham Forest, now Leytonstone ward:Lab x3 1962-3 Rochford, now Hawkwell West ward: Rochford Res x2, Conx1 1964-76 Ashford, now North Willesborough ward: GPx2 1976-2020, Ashford, now Weald Central ward: Con.
Overall I make that: Labx7,LDx3, Resx2, Greens x2, Con x2. Ultimate irony:The only place I've ever lived which currently* has a Tory councillor (elected unopposed) is where I live now. And for 16 of the years that I have lived here I had a Lib Dem councillor. Who also happened to be my wife. * not quite true, I now realise as I missed a Tory scraping in at Hawkwell West. Thanks Pete for your eternal vigilance!

Hawkwell West has a Tory councillor You are quite right , I have checked it properly now. I 'm a bit out of date on Hawkwell politics since I left the village in the Christmas of 1964! There was a full election in2016 which elected 2 Residents and 1 Tory, Julie Gooding. The main reason for that was the Residents only put up two candidates who both got over 1000 votes and Jule came third with just over half that. In 2018 Julie as the lowest succesful candidate had to defend her seat and just managed to stay in front of the Resident, and in 2019 the Residents held their seat! I will adjust my post!
