Not really that spicy was it? I wonder if they were confusing it with the YouGov poll? That one was a bit more interesting.

Well in the sense that it's their equal largest Labour lead, it was perhaps with at least medium chilli content. But yes the YouGov one is more dramatic altogether.

The survey also showed that, in a matter of days, Truss has tanked her personal ratings and fallen clearly behind Starmer on the "best PM" question. (despite this pollster's incumbent-friendly wording)

Always beware poll hype, but this does at least suggest the Tories haven't bottomed out just yet.

only LibDems can win here... I’m guessing the last time the Lib Dems were in second place would have been during 2010 GE Cleggmania - could we see that happening again any time soon?

Electoral Calculus, which we know is rubbish but does the job, has these results: Labour 544 SNP 51 Con 18 LD 13 Grn 1

The complete lack of Lib Dem bounce in the polls as the Tories collapse is somewhat surprising. Yes, they’re not very visible, but you’d assume at least some unhappy Tory voters would temporarily switch to them rather than just Labour/don’t know.

Of course, they likely will in reality, that’s part of the reason why the Labour share is too high. Either because of the position in their constituency or because they can’t bring themselves to vote Labour.

We had to cancel our Conference, of course, because it clashed with the Queen's funeral etc.
