I've been sent a screenshot from a Labour member which shows the last name alphabetically in the North Wales region for Labour which is Mary Wimbury.
She seems to becoming a perpetual candidate for Labour having contested Arfon in 2015, #1 on the North Wales list in 2016, #3 on the Wales list in the 2019 Euro election and Wrexham in the 2019 GE.

Minor correction- it was Aberconwy she contested in 2015. For one thing I distinctly recall casting my ballot for her that year.

She's a really good candidate and did impressively well in Aberconwy. It was not through any fault of the local candidate that Labour lost Wrexham in 2019.

Eh, there was a modest increase in vote share from 2010, but we still wound up south of 30% of the vote and there was still a slight swing to the Conservatives.

Winbury is, as I recall, the daughter in law of the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales.

Donna Lalek (Alyn and Deeside by-election candidate) The Welsh Lib Dem website minorly disagrees, and appears to think that the list is i.e. differing in the 4th position (and giving a, probably optimistic, reserve fifth).

The 1-4 I listed were selected a while back. It’s no surprise to see a candidate chosen last/4th drop out do stand somewhere else. Also nothing wrong with picking a 5th candidate although I accept his chances are slim. Jason Edwards is also standing in Aberconwy so I guess it makes sense to ‘padd’ the list.

Labour list will be topped by Carolyn Thomas The other selected list candidates are Andy Short, Diane Green and Ryan O'Gorman. I think in this order but I am not 100% sure. Thomas is the Deputy leader of Flintshire Council. She represents Treuddyn ward (which is in Alyn and Deeside constituency). She lost to Jack Sargeant in the selection ahead of the A&D by-election www.carolynthomas.walesShort is from Ynys Môn CLP. Green is from Clwyd West CLP. O'Gorman is from Alyn & Deeside CLP. Leading position on Labour list is not worthless here if Labour don't fully recover from 2019 bad performance 2016 results Alyn and Deeside +24.7 Delyn +15.4 Clwyd South +13.6 Wrexham +6.5 Vale of Clwyd +3.1 2019 results Alyn and Deeside +0.5 Delyn -2.3 Clwyd South -3.4 Vale of Clwyd -4.9 Wrexham -6.3

Thomas was also an independent for 7 years on the Council (even being leader of a group) before joining Labour just before GE2015.

Shame we can't make it 3. The first council campaign I was involved with had Elin as a candidate in Whitchurch (if its the same Elin - which I think it was).

Sam Rowlands was the constituency candidate for Vale of Clwyd in 2016 and is currently Leader of the Conwy CBC. Not sure how likely the Conservatives are to regain a second seat on the list up here, but he's certainly an ambitious one I daresay.

I was thinking the other day which of Labour's North Wales seats are most likely to fall to the Conservatives and I'm torn between Vale of Clwyd and Wrexham. I'd imagine there'll be a significant boost in their vote share given the absence of UKIP (who won 12.5% last time), sure some of that vote will go to Abolish and some to Reform but the Conservatives will gain a substantial chunk of it. If they don't pick up any extra constituency seats they would be very unlucky not to gain a second list seat here.
