I don't expect Willie Rennie to be seriously challenged here after a Lib Dem Gain on less favourable boundaries in last years General Election. The 2017 election showed that there is still quite a large natural Conservative vote here, but unfortunately any window in which to attempt to cement ourselves as an alternative SNP opposition has probably passed for now and as a result we will be mercilessly squeezed by the Lib Dems in tactical voting. All we can hope for is second place on the regional list.

The LDs are a pernicious threat to us and we don't want them getting any beachheads at all.

I doubt we can unseat Swinney but I think we have a chance against Cunningham.

SNP selection candidates:
Rhuaraidh Flemming (Stephen Gethins and Rod Campbell's election agent from 2015, making that a 50% success rate, current Mid Scotland and Fife Regional Association representative on the NEC) Stefan Hoggan-Radu (former member of the YSI and worked for Douglas Chapman) Nadia El Nakla (works for Shona Robison and a drug counselling charity, also the obvious spousal connection) Ross Cunningham (Ash Denham's Senior Comms Officer, various media roles with St Johnstone FC and the Fife Flyers prior) Chris Hanlon (see Dunfermline entry)
