Indeed. But we know that's not what she meant.

I'm a neuro typical hetero. We've found one! Would you like to sit down. We care. Counselling can be arranged 😀 I'm afraid I'm crazy in other ways, quite severe anxiety and anger issues in the past,so I wouldn't start trying.

I'm a neuro typical hetero. As am I, although my wife's convinced I'm a bit autistic, I come out as neurotypical in the surveys.... 😂Everyone gets told they're a little autistic, but very few people actually are.

Tbh it should be fairly obvious why autistic people (especially of a certain type) might be attracted to a forum that specialises in poring over psephological minutiae. What is maybe not quite so clear is why so many gay men are.
(and its also true btw that the autistic people on here *tend* to be heterosexual, though there are of course some high profile exceptions)

I fall into the autistic heterosexual category.

What is maybe not quite so clear is why so many gay men are. It might be that. But it might be that many more straight men are or were, but they get it knocked out of them by women. And gay men don't. I keep this largely secret from my wife. She knows I am on here, but thankfully does not know what I am doing here or she would put a stop to it. Same with Twitter.

Fred McIntosh is the Lib Dem candidate here according to the leaflet I got this week.
The leaflet highlighted him as candidate for Southern and Neil Ross as councillor for Morningside ward.
I'm in Colinton Fairmilehead ward and Pentlands constituency for Holyrood...

This is a tough one but a more likely Labour hold than Dumbarton or East Lothian

This is a tough one but a more likely Labour hold than Dumbarton or East Lothian I live in the Edinburgh Southern and am inclined to agree, although it is a tough one to call. The Lib Dems appear to have almost vanished and seem to be focussing on taking a Regional List seat. The Conservatives are too far back to mount a realistic challenge. It will probably come down to a shoot-out between Labour and the SNP. I have detected a lot of local anti-SNP resentment over their bizarre new lock-down.

SNP selection candidates:
Catriona MacDonald (Edinburgh South candidate in 2019, works for Joanna Cherry) Alison Dickie (Edinburgh Central candidate in 2016 losing to Ruth Davidson, Southside/Newington councillor on Edinburgh Council since 2017) Doug Thomson (stood for selection for Edinburgh South in 2017, husband of Holyrood magazine editor Mandy Rhodes, investment financer) Irshad Ahmed (see Edinburgh Eastern entry) Donald Balsillie (Clackmannanshire North councillor on Clackmannanshire Council since 2007 and deputy council leader, also standing for selection in Edinburgh Western) Andrew Ewen (Convener of Leith Walk branch) Leslie Macinnes (Liberton/Gilmerton councillor on Edinburgh Council since 2017)

I suspect that Fred Mackintosh blew his best chance of being elected when he finished second to Ian Murray in the Westminster seat in 2010. Murray was elected by 316 votes. It did look odds on for a Lib Dem gain as they only lost out to 405 to Nigel Griffths in 2005. The Lib Dems, through Mike Pringle, held the Holyrood seat in 2003 and 2007. Griffiths stood down after some dubious expenses claims and other issues.
The SNP did gain the Southern Constituency in 2011 in a very tight four-way contest with only 3,649 between the SNP and the 4th placed Conservatives. Since then the Lib Dem vote collapsed from 8,297 in 2011 to 2,218 in 2016.
The SNP only lost by 1,123 in 2016 but they had the advantage of incumbancy.
Edinburgh Southern is a very difficult one to call. It doesn't appear to look like an SNP-type Constsituency despite the win 2011. The Lib Dem vote collapsed and hasn't recovered. By contrast, in the rather similar Edinburgh Western Constituency, the Lib Dems recovered to regain the seat from the SNP.
I keep thinking that the Conservatives ought to be doing a lot better in what is probably the most prosperous Constituency in Scotland. They did recover from 4th place in 2011 to 3rd in 2016. However their big problem, as in Edinburgh Western is that the SNP are currently 2nd. So the tactical Unionist vote will probably go to Labour, just as it will go to the Lib Dems in Edinburgh Western.
It could be a very close three-way fight. I think that Labour will hang on. A good second place finish by the Conservatives could put them in poll position for a future election.
