Don't say that. It's barely true, it's not helpful and it's not the point. If it's a spectrum, then everybody's on the spectrum, that's what spectrum means. Something can be at 0.00 or 1.00 on a spectrum, but that still means it's on the spectrum. Generally I say I have Asperger's.

You're quite right about Edinburgh's legal and financial ties giving it a pro-Conservative bent, and in fact I would go so far as to say it's one of the most Tory-friendly cities in the UK. Every time I go there I'm always struck by how different it feels to anywhere else in Scotland, never mind in England! One of the reasons for that is that almost all of the affluent parts of Edinburgh are in the city proper, rather than in adjacent suburban authorities or in a commuter belt. Looking at the Wikipedia pages for local elections in Edinburgh over the years the city boundaries appear to have expanded with the local government reforms of the early 70s to include what are now the parts of the city outside the by-pass - I think including South Queensferry (and possibly Balerno and Currie?). But the boundaries of this seat are I think entirely within the bypass.

But the boundaries of this seat are I think entirely within the bypass. The boundaries of South (Westminster) are within the bypass as Currie and Balerno are in South West and Queensferry in West. Southern (Holyrood) is clearly all within the bypass as it doesn't even touch the Southern edge of the city with Pentlands and Eastern taking in the more southern bits of South, making Southern more of a South Central...

Which is completely beside the point Its actually the sort of thing that an Aspie might say..... I have never heard another autistic person say anything like that. I have heard many complain about neurotypical people saying "oh, well, everyone's a bit autistic" because it trivialises the struggles of being autistic, sort of like if someone were to try claiming that whit people are also people of colour because white is a colour.

Not the specific thing in this case, more the thinking that lies behind it.
(I have Aspergers myself - you know this yes?)

I did wonder who would be the first person to come back with that stupid response. It is a sugar coating exercise, so no, by definition getting annoyed by it is not being a snoflake.

This may sound insulting, but is there anyone else who isn't autistic on this forum? It seems a bit odd that there's such a large concentration here. A lot like the sheer number of us who are homos.

I always come out as very neurotypical in the surveys. But yeah, I'm a poof, so what we really need is a neurotypical hetero.

Not insulting to me in the slightest, I have never been part of the "community" - perhaps why I find the idea that Boogie's remark could in any way be unhelpful and the use of the halfwitted word "aspie" simply bizarre. I don't want anything to do with them, and they probably don't want anything to do with me, it's a happy medium.

One can learn to be neurotypical.
In the same way you can go from the sofa to running a 5k.
