So are the elections defitnely going ahead tomorrow? The legislation to stop them still hasn't gone through, so I presume so. I haven't heard anything about the Coventry one being off. However, I expect on the day turnout will be abysmally low.

Seems to be going ahead: www.coventry.gov.uk/upperstokebyelection"The Upper Stoke By-Election on 19 March will still be going ahead, polls will be open from 7am - 10pm. We are advising electors and staff to take reasonable steps as set out in Public Health England's Advice on how to avoid catching or spreading the virus."

I've just submitted the Previews for all four by-elections. I have to admit, the Previews are one of the things I'll miss most during the coming months. I always enjoyed finding out the historical and social quirks of various suburbs, towns, and villages across the country. I suppose on the bright side it'll be easier for you, since I know a lot of research is involved!

Please see my post on the Town and Community Council by-elections thread. The two Hellesdon parish by-elections due tomorrow have been cancelled.

Meanwhile Coventry merely offered advice to people self-isolating who want to vote. Seems that one is going ahead as planned, and likely to be the last by election that does for quite some time.

Ditto this; I’ve talked about them so much I now have to read them to my mum, she calls them her “weekly history lesson”.

Just like everybody else's.
