Did the counts get formally released at any level below the constituency? Or were there just informal counts by the broadcasters as early boxes came in?
If not, then working out how any theoretical constituency would have voted is practically impossible. Even then, I'm not sure it's that useful - and deciding some boundaries will prove impossible. Even if you use electoral divisions as a base, in Dublin alone two have populations way over 30,000 (one in Blanchardstown and one in Lucan).

The party workers usually tally the boxes as they're opened, but I don't think the results are officially counted in any way that allows a local breakdown.

Within County Dublin, I'll nest 8 seats in Dublin city proper south of the river. I looked into it and its impossible to use anything as a base other than electoral divisions. They have barely changed over the past century(ies?) and are the only unit small enough. Regardless of whether notional results are possible however this should be an interesting dive into the world of Irish demography.

Mostly ok, but Ireland has traditionally been ok about crossing county boundaries so there's no way you'll get away with a single seat to Longford which has 1.37 quotas. Reposting what I said on the other thread..... ULSTER 9.97 seats, rounds to 10. This is the potentially awkward one as it's non-contiguous and most of the time would need to be linked with Connaught. Not this time. Donegal (5.35 quotas) gets 5 seats. Cavan (2.56) and Monaghan (2.06) paired for 5. CONNAUGHT 18.50, rounds down to 18 due to allocations elsewhere. Galway City (2.64) paired with Galway county (6.03) for 9 seats. Leitrim (1.08) gets one. Roscommon (2.17) and Sligo (2.20) get two each. Mayo (4.39) gets 4. MUNSTER 43.01 gets 43. Clare (3.99) for 4. Cork County (14.02) for 14. Cork City (4.22) for 4. Kerry (4.96) for 5. Limerick (6.55) for 7 Tipperary (5.36) gets 5. Waterford (3.90) for 4. LEINSTER 88.52 rounding to 89 gets awkward finding the 89th seat. Maybe easier depending on allocation criteria to give a 19th to Connaught, but... Fingal (9.95) for 10. Dublin City (18.63) gets 19. Dún Laoghaire (7.33) for 7. Now the tricky bit.... Offaly (2.62) Kildare (7.48) South Dublin (9.37) If you need 89 seats, Offaly gets 3 and the other two paired for 17. If 88 seats, SD gets 9 and the others paired for 10. Carlow (1.91) paired with Kilkenny (3.33) for 5. Laois (2.85) for 3. Louth (4.33) for 4. Meath (6.55) for 7. (Possibility of a pairing with Louth.) Logford (1.37) paired with Westmeath (2.98) for 4. Wexford (5.03) and Wicklow (4.79) both for 5. Missing Garristown in the first, but yep, 30342 and 31502 people. Call it Howth-Portmarnock, since the peninsula is a major geographic feature. 29228 people. No need to split Malahide and Lissenhall. Also, highly unlikely a national constituency would make reference to an airport, given there are several in the state. SWORDS NORTH: Donabate, Swords-Lissenhall, Swords-Seatown 26949 SWORDS SOUTH: Swords Village, Swords-Forest, Swords-Glasmore 27801 MALAHIDE: Malahide east, Malahide west, Balgriffin, Kinsaley 26312 The other four I had: ABBOTSTOWN AND DUBBER: Airport, Blanchardstown-Abbotstown, Dubber, The Ward, Turnapin 29887 BLANCHARDSTOWN WEST: Blanchardstown-Blakestown (-8000 people) 30894 BLANCHARDSTOWN EAST: Blanchardstown-Blakestown (8000 people), Blanchardstown-Coolmine, Blanchardstown-Cordruff, Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart, Blanchardstown-Tyrrelstown 30571 CASTLEKNOCK: Blanchardstown-Delwood, Blanchardstown-Roselawn, Castleknock, Lucan-north 32633 Why do you only have 17 seats in Dublin city when it's entitled to 19?

Thanks. And point taken re: the airport. as for County Dublin I only apportioned a specific rigid number to the county; then drew seats without any rigid quota within it. I figured that the natural seat counts would manifest themselves and if not then the imbalances would even out. In any case there has to be 45 within Dublin as a whole. The splitting of Malahide and Lissenhall was done for cosmetic reason - I wanted a less meandering seat arrangement. However it seems I did not try hard to enough to see if there was any alternatives.

To make it clear now - traditional County boundaries are indeed not to be crossed no matter what. So the Longford seat stands. And Dublin will have to be redone if it the overall number of seats in Dublin is less than 45.

looking at the numbers Dublin city north of the Liffey will have to go up 2 seats. I'll have to redo it. As of rn this is what it looks like for each segment of Dublin Region. Dublin City south of Liffey: 212k (7) Dublin City north of Liffey: 342k (12) Fingal 296k (10) South Dublin 279k (9) Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown 218k (7) I have some things to redo. Also the Dun Laoghire seats, Dublin s. of Liffey, and Fingal seats can be considered official. Unless Dun Laoghire is redone and I get the chance to redo Dublin south of liffey with one less seat...and thus Dublin north of liffey with one more...I haven't done that yet. I'm currently inputting this into a map. edit: ok I think allotments are now settled for sure.

They have long been crossed and not just in ROI, there's Fermanagh&South Tyrone in the north. While there is no specific deviation set down, they've generally kept it tight. The largest deviation in the most recent report was 5.25% from the average. The 1959 review was also struck down by the courts on the grounds that the deviations of 25% that it recommended breached the equality of representation requirement in the constitution. So there is simply no way a Longford constituency 37% above the quota would be either suggested or permitted. I chanced my arm by going up to 12.5%, but that's stretching it and you'd need the cross-county constituencies I suggested to make that work.

I dunno what boogieeck would think about it? 3. I calculated seat allotment on county basis If all three of these were to be struck down then I'd combine them with Roscommon for apportionment purposes and consider them together. Their total area would together have 3 districts? Maybe 4. And that district would come at the expense of Kildare. For now I'm de-officializing Longford pending further consideration.
