Not a place I know much of, but I have a vague recollection that Freshney ward was the site of one of the ludicrous Arndale - type destructions of regional centres. Seen in many cities (Nottingham, Manchester) but possibly most brutally in Stretford. In one of the various Greater Manchester councils' various attempts to kill off generations of working-class businesses in the name of progress (and to be clear, I blame Labour and Tories alike here). |

Freshney Place, but it used to be called something else. Apparently one of the anchor tenants is Game, which is a bit odd. |
