I have so far been unable to find any draft boundaries for either North or West Northamptonshire. In Buckinghamshire they are taking the County Council boundaries and making them 3 member seats. If this were they model for Northamptonshire then the North Unitary would have something like 78 or 81 seats and the West 90 or 93, a total of 171 seats.

Are the Tories likely to take any fall-out from the failure of Northamptonshire CC? It's a pretty sorry car crash, surely they can't walk away from it without a scratch...can they?

Sadly I suspect they will get big majorities on both. They are naturally Tory areas, recent by-elections have been solid and actual competence at running a council seems pretty low in Northamptonshire voters checklist. Edit: apart from the Daventry Brixworth by-election but candidate choice a big factor there.

The Tories' punishment for fucking up the county council is to have one safe Labour authority and one marginal one put into unitary authorities that the Tories will never lose control of....
