The Labour selection has just reopened. Current AM Jennette Arnold is retiring and Claudia Webbe (an Islington councillor) had been selected, but was then elected MP for Leicester East. Rather than devolve on the runner-up in the selection, a new procedure has started with an all-woman shortlist.

Rather than devolve on the runner-up in the selection, a new procedure has started with an all-woman shortlist. Webbe was not selected (yet). The shortlist (announced in October) was Webbe and Sem Moena. The members ballot didn't take place yet unless I missed something. All London selections were supposed to take place in November but they were delayed by the GE.

All the selections were postponed in October till the New Year. I would imagine that the selections will coincide with the Labour leadership election and probably means that a candidate won't be in place until March.

The Conservatives originally selected Ben Seifert but he went all anti Brexit and resigned. The new candidate is to be selected.
The Lib Dems originally selected Ben Mathis, who was also selected for the list and for Hackney North & Stoke Newington in the general election, but was suspended from the party at the end of November over his Twitter history. I assume they will be reselecting.

The Conservative candidate is Emma Best:

I vaguely know Emma Best - she's an excellent councillor and worked incredibly hard to get IDS reelected. I imagine she will go for (and get) the Chingford and Woodford Green candidacy if IDS retires at the end of this parliament, which I am almost certain he will.

I'm presuming Sem Moema has been selected here.

Is Ben Mathis still the Liberal Democrat candidate after his general election trip under a bus or has the selection been reopened?
