I know the Greens are stereotypically bad at by-elections, but that's surely a typo... Christ, I bet even in 1986, I could have got more Green votes than that out of the lefty middle-classes around the Town end of Brook Street and Clifton Street.

Labour 222 - 62.5%, down 11.6% on May 2012 Plaid Cymru 54 - 15.2% from nowhere Independent 1 41 - 11.5% from nowhere Lib Dem 24 - 6.8%, down 19.1% Independent 2 14 - 3.9% from nowhere
Swing Lib Dem to Labour 3.7% although both parties suffered double digit drops in share
Dudley MB, Wollaston & Stourbridge Town
Labour 847 - 35.8%, down 2.1% on "top" May 2012 share and down 3.1% on "average" Conservative 787 - 33.3%, up 0.4% on "top" and up 1.2% on average UKIP 249 - 10.5%, up 0.6% on "top" and up 0.2% on "average" Independent 211 - 8.9% from nowhere Lib Dem 169 - 7.1%, down 5.9% on both "top" and "average" BNP 96 - 4.1% from nowhere Green 7 - 0.3%, down 5.9% on "top" and 5.3% on "average"
Swing Labour to Conservative some 1.2% on "top" candidate share and 2.2% on "average" - the Norton by-election in June 2012 saw a 2.0% swing Labour to Conservative.

Yes, it is very strange, they have consistently got 200+ votes for the last 3 years in this ward so even if they didn't bother to campaign at all you would expect them to get more than 7 votes.
