Hmmmm, on more than one level.
Not unwelcome though.

I keep hearing how everyone despises us these days because Brexit/colonialism/pet-hate... Though as with any other country, there's always a question over who is "us" If someone talks about "The Americans" doing x, y or z I'm always doing a mental multiple choice on whether they mean (a) the current President (b) the last one (c) the wider US government (d) Congress or part of it (e) the entire American people (f) assorted celebs, rock stars, actors, characters in The Simpsons etc (g) a vague amalgam of all the above Britain is still a country where the rule of law generally applies, with perceived/actual low levels of corruption compared to many other countries, ditto violent crime, and a possibly undeserved reputation for politeness, dry humour, quirkiness and sophistication. It takes quite a lot of arsing around by the powers that be to eliminate that perception of actual British people. Also, we haven't actually colonised anyone new for at least a century. Maybe we're due? Someone fetch me a map of the Faroe Islands.

PS given the comment about our having invaded etc so many countries, it is interesting to note that the former Axis powers are in three of the top seven places, and a fourth place is occupied by Spain, whose own record on colonisation, invasion (or on buddying up to The Axis come to that) etc is not exactly spotless.
Whereas China has the highest "distrust" rating and Russia's is also notably worse than countries with similar net figures.

Fieldwork was done when most people were receiving and sending their postal votes.

Has to be be a fair chance it is an outlier, just like the 43-29 YouGov was in another direction.
However, the possibility that current goings on will lead to a clear narrowing in the polls must surely be non-negligible.

Fieldwork was done when most people were receiving and sending their postal votes. Probably an outlier we’ll see what Redfield say later today, although the underlying data is this poll is again extremely positive for the government.
