no it shows to me as we have seen younger tories go how much more radical they are compared to the existing tory party
but it is a position that would never win a GE

There are rumours on Twitter that Aric Gilinsky chairman of CF Scotland has defected to UKIP. I think they are false though

Indeed they are false.

I'd be surprised if it's true, although I don't know Aric well enough to say that with certainty. Certainly there's no chatter about it from the other university Tories - the cause celebre amongst them at the moment is disaffiliating from the NUS instead.

nice twitter war at the moment betwen Leeds CF and Leeds Lab students after corrections found that Well done to the 40% of the 2011-2012 @leeds_CF Committee who have defected to UKIP this week. Hey, I'm pretty sure Leeds was MY remit Anyway, I saw this coming through my Twitter feed and thought "I wonder if Vote-UK would be interested" and decided against it. Noticeable that Conservative candidate from the Headingley ward last year and former chair of Leeds Conservative Future has defected too. Still more amusing than anything else. Good call

From Tim Montgomerie, based on the Dorries latest intervention
Tory Minister txts saying "chances of @nadinedorriesmp defecting to UKIP 100 times greater than DC being ousted"

I have no doubt a week Friday we will see a defection or two being high profile. Wrong!

I know a tory from Mid Beds, he is very well connected and they all hate her and regret they picked her. Losing her would be no big deal for the tories and difficult for us to make play from. In fact by her staying causes far more trouble than sitting on the benches next to Galloway !!

She will undoubtedly lead the protests against boundary changes, and all the fun and games to follow from that. How much is genuine dislike of the process, and how much is genuine fear of being deselected/not chosen by associations who hate here, is up for debate. I wonder if she, or anyone else, suffered a polling night wobble?

It is quite another to be shooting your mouth off like this, and am sure a number of conservative councillors who lost will not be thanking her for her attempts at self-publicity.

It appear that the toilet cleaner of Thanet Conservative Club has defected to UKIP and has lost her job as a result . This harsh response by the Conservatives is causing a bit of a stink in the area .

The Highlands youngest Councillor has stood down from the SNP while police investigations into breaches of the Representation of the People Act 1983 in relation to expenses are being investigated.

Is there any point Zac Goldsmith staying in the Tory party ?
how many in the party believe the same kind of thing about GM as he believes and I agree with him on. Following on from tweets a few weeks ago it is clear he is very very unhappy and no real alternative leader in the party he would like
