He's been tweeting against the 'collectivist EUSSR' and opposing Scots independence as well ...

Anyone heard anything about Arthur Scargill possibly joining UKIP? Pimp, Do you post these things just to raise Pete's blood pressure a bit more?

I thought he liked the USSR More pertinently, I'm damn sure he likes collectivism. Though I'm not sure Scargill opposing Scots independence is at all notable. He's living in 1985, and at that point the left-wing position was still to be firmly opposed to devolution.

Anyone heard anything about Arthur Scargill possibly joining UKIP? well Pimp if you can be in UKIP .... for someone like Scargill who has always hated the EU this is the perfect party for a one issue person.

Are you sure it's the real Arthur Scargill who tweeted? There is no confusion about him opposing Scottish independence. The SLP is a GB party, not an England party. On the subject of Scottish independence, it is likely that Scargill would agree with his erstwhile colleague Harpal Brar in his analysis of the national question relating to Scotland, according to Stalin's definition of nationhood, which is based on common language, territory, economic interaction and cultural/psychological development. www.cpgb-ml.org/index.php?secName=proletarian&subName=display&art=887But regardless of whatever anyone has tweeted, I am absolutely certain that there would be no possibility of Arthur Scargill either wanting to join UKIP or considering doing so.

The Sun - Tory to UKIP... being muted apparently... could be massive if they did make such a declaration... Does Murdoch like Cameron? Could this actually happen?

Hilarious thought that would be, Murdoch likes picking winners, so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Possibly they could endorse UKIP for the Euro elections?

Even so - whilst I think (as does greatkingrat) that a UKIP endorsement for the Euro-elections is possible, I really can't see it going further than that.

The resultof a Sun endorsement for the Euros - and yes that would fit with the Sun liking to back winners - could well lead to a significant momentum shift...

Wonder what favours Farage will give Murdoch then ?
Whilst Cameron obviously was very close to Brooks he did go against Murdoch (well forced to) and that was it, any deals were off.

doktorb to join the Tories (or UKIP)?
Judging by his recent postings he would be more at home there!
