I've spent quite a few hours playing around with both the boundary assistant for the UK and Dave Gardow's redistricting app for the USA, both of which I found through this forum. Does anybody know of any similar apps/websites for other countries?

gardow.com/davebradlee/redistricting/launchapp.htmlI usually use version 2.2. You need to have Microsoft Silverlight and can use it either through your browser or on the app if you download it. For some reason I can only save the plans in the app if I'm updating the plan/overwriting one with the same name and I can only open ones I've already saved through the app not through my browser, but I don't know if you'll also have that problem.

Whilst there is no chance of me actually playing around with US boundaries, I can't help but wonder how well it runs on wine (the program you use to run Windows programs on a Linux computer).

Would it not be fun if Boundary Assistant could not top up the votes for each constructed constituency based on well informed ward estimates for the 2017 General Election?

Would it not be fun if Boundary Assistant could not top up the votes for each constructed constituency based on well informed ward estimates for the 2017 General Election? There are two developments I'd particularly like to see, although I'm sure it takes a lot of time and effort to provide the excellent tool we already have so this is said with no expectations! The first would be if you could import electoral registration statistics to a region so that you aren't limited to the last parliamentary boundary review data to create constituencies. I could then work on Scottish Parliament constituencies which of course use the Scottish local gov franchise, rather than the parliamentary. The second would be if there could be more regular updates of the mapped areas for ward boundary changes. One of these days, I will learn how to use GIS style programmes myself!

I've tried, but the wards are too large. Am I missing something?

You could get community council or polling district electorates out of the ERO, but that's a faff if you aren't actually needing them for an actual submission.

I'd love to see a version of this for Canada, as well as something to calculate the results in each constituency. It's still a great system as it is.

Not only is that a good website at this stage, but I note that they plan to add more features (including notional election results and 2021 census figures as they're released) in the coming months.

twitter.com/PrimerPoll_WebIm actually developing, an alternative that use's OA's as opposed to wards allowing for council redistricting as well. I wan't to have it out by the end of this month. (It also seems i might be able to make OA by OA election predictions for general elections given a sense of political leaning of seats as well, but that's a thing for later.)

I was wondering too - the user claimed on their Twitter account it would be within the month and it looked near to completion. It's now a month since that Tweet. Of course this person is doing it off their own steam and made no contract with us but I'm surprised there have been no updates at all.
