that didn't take long in Ashford, wonder what the issue was. Perhaps he has reservations about the progressive alliance in the borough?

It was clear what batman meant from the context: he hasn't lacked the talent to understand local name usage. Is 'goverence' a specific issue in ward references?

Also, I believe that in the borough of Spelthorne, and the Surrey version of Ashford , there is indeed a progressive alliance. In the Kent version, with Labour on the sidelines and the Ashford Indies leading the anti-Tory alliance, the jury might be still out as to whether that constitutes a "progressive" alliance.

there is indeed, not only in the recent local elections but in previous by-elections the Labour, Liberal Democrat & Green parties have declined to stand against each other. This has only applied to borough elections, in a fairly recent Surrey County Council by-election in Ashford (and I DO mean the one not in Kent but in Middlesex - according to its residents - or Surrey administratively) the parties did stand against each other, with the Liberal Democrats emerging the victors nonetheless. Thus Labour had a clear run against the Conservatives in both Stanwell wards and won all the seats, and so on. TUSC did not observe this alliance, but they didn't stand in Stanwell this year which made Labour's job very slightly easier - they nearly cost Labour victory in the Stanwell North by-election in 2021, but not quite, as Labour squeaked home on a low turnout on a rather damp, cold day.

Looks like another defection in Plymouth - Philip Partridge, elected as Conservative in Honicknowle ward, now formed the 'Free Independents' group with Steven Ricketts (Drake ward).

I owe an apology for my outburst last night. Not an excuse for poor behaviour but I've had an incredibly long and difficult week which addled my brain before bed last night. So apologies to lackeroftalent.

Alex Feis-Bryce has left labour and joined the Greens. He was an advisor to Ed Miliband Very briefly a Lewisham councillor (Evelyn ward from 2018 until resigning at the end of March 2019). The Green Party is very strong in Deptford so possibly a local motivation there.

Cllr Andrew McLuskey is a very interesting character. It’s no surprise he has resigned the Green Party whip. In the last twenty years he has stood for Labour, Lib Dem’s and Green in Spelthorne. A serial defector.
