Yes, I've seen his tweet. Didn't see any sign of anyone threatening anyone but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It has to be said I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good natured everything was

She's a race grifter and got her seat through a fairly unpleasant deselection campaign. She's also massively up her own arse about her talents believing that being the temporary manager of an arts centre with a piffling budget gave her a unique ability to run the council better than literally anyone else. She was also behind an attempt to finger someone for racism in a Labour internal election, an attempt that fell flat: said perpetrator wasn't found because it didn't happen. I don't think she'll stay in the Greens for long, but if she does I doubt she'll stand next time. The councillor she replaced was controversial at the time and looking at her Twitter feed, she would not have received my vote (fanatical anti-trans) and was apparently a dreadful parliamentary candidate in 2015. I don't know the councillor you clearly don't like but again, she's hardly compatible with your politics. Are you sure this is correct? It looks like the councillor she replaced was Nigel Murphy. I think you're referring to Amina Lone, who had been deselected (or possibly failed the panel interview?) back in 2018.

In addition to the previously mentioned, Stroud, Cam West. Colin Fryer, Labour to Indpendent.
Guildford, Merrow. Jan Harwood, Conservative to Independent. Originally elected as Lib Dem, he defected in November last year.

Interesting article and nothing too surprising. It's a very top-down culture and style and that's well known. Given the size of the majority you might think they could relax a little! Not necessarily a left-right thing either.

2 Dursley, 1 Cam West and 1 Rodborough. I am genuinely astonished about Colin, and more than a little disappointed

There should be a ban on anyone who's recently been a member of a political party to describe themselves as an independent in any capacity.

There should be a ban on anyone who's recently been a member of a political party to describe themselves as an independent in any capacity. That would have been quite awkward for those defecting from the UK Independence Party.

In France they would be called Miscellaneous left/right/center depending on what party they were ex member's of.

Didn't see any sign of anyone threatening anyone but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It has to be said I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good natured everything was When a right wing Reading Labour councillor chose to accuse me of arson outside a meeting (!), they weren't particularly animated, it was a passive aggressive type comment. As you say, it's not always obvious what goes on at a meeting.
