Michael (never Mick) Jeal Labour to independent following suspension due to secretive reasons, alas my sources are not what they were... The local press is on form, what with Mick not being the former Town Mayor that being a position that hasn't existed for quite some time.
Not sure of the committee seats either unless he groups together with the other independents, but I am basing that on out of date knowledge before the council went back to a committee based model rather than the leader and cabinet set up. With the group leaders support I'm guessing Michael been dobbed in by a member, Karmic really with his track record...
May I point out to the Hon Gentleman that we have a separate thread for administrative suspensions. If I was half competent in such matters I would move your post to that thread. But I'm not. I thank the Rt Hon gent for this helpful interjection, but akin to Schrödinger's cat, we may not know if the cat is dead or alive but we do know it is an F'ing cat in a box and it is all one needs to know if we are counting cats, (though I will concede, this may of course not be as relevant if we need a cat FTE for purposes such as, say, buying catfood), and further categorisation and effective obfuscation of ready to reach information to fulfil pedantry, whilst being a pastime may not actually be useful.
I'm appreciate the spirit in which the observation was made

I refer the Hon Member to the Hon Member for somewhere in Westminster who got terribly, terribly upset at administrative suspensions appearing in this thread.

Whilst I am deeply sorry if any member so feel effected by the non-observance of the rites and rituals of their sub-grouping I would still refer them the the answer I posted some moments ago.

Paul Bell, former chair of the Fermanagh & South Tyrone DUP, quits the party and suggests many others will do so as well: But to whom? Does he give any indication of where he is going, if anywhere? Other hard line Unionist organisations like TUV? Back to the UUP? Alliance? Is it simply out af anger at the way Arlene Foster has been treated, or out of concern at the direction the DUP has gone / is going in?

Two in Haringey - Barbara Blake (Seven Sisters) has rejoined Labour after being kicked out in 2019, but James Chiriyankandath (Bounds Green) has left Labour to sit as an Independent.

(this was previously posted on this thread in April) Yes, same defection, she’s claiming to have been bullied out of the Labour Party who “failed to recognise my talents”. I’ll just leave it there. EDIT: The former Chair of Stoke North Labour Party has posted on Facebook that Ms Chetwynd has indeed now joined the Conservatives.

Update on the Candi Chetwynd situation: Nearly a week later she is still shown as an Independent on Stoke City Council's website. She may have announced her intention to join them, but they have to agree. She has protected her Twitter and Facebook accounts.

It may/may not be connected but Abi Brown the council leader doesn’t seem to have been on any of the photographs of the Conservative campaign in Penkhull and Stoke, and didn’t do her weekly Facebook Live on Thursday, so possibly taken a half term break, and they’re doing a PR stunt with the MPs this morning.

Diane Forsythe is his daughter, she has quit the dup and she is mentioned in the article. It doesn't seem to mention that Kathryn Owen is his daughter.

Hanna is a good Kilkeel surname. Jeffrey Donaldson's home town, of course. And mine.
