And they can't get hold of him. He's done an Enoch Powell! This might be the first time ever that Pat Karney has been unable to reach someone for comment.

And followed now by Cllr Gwilym Williams (Disserth & Trecoed) (Con to AFP); former Chairman of Brecon & Radnor Conservatives. Same issue.

This may have already been noted but I wasn't aware that David Coburn (former UKIP MEP) is now affiliated to George Galloway's Alliance for Unity

There have been strong rumours for the last few weeks that he had been deselected by the Tories.

Rotherham: Cllr Ian Jones (Rotherham West) LAB -> IND Cllr Kerry Albiston (Valley) LAB -> IND Both of these occurred a few months ago but it doesn't look like they have been posted here. In the case of Ian Jones his Labour colleagues chose not to back him for mayor after a year in the deputy role, although he remains deputy mayor at present: www.rotherhamadvertiser.co.uk/news/view,opposition-to-back-rotherhams-deselected-mayor-candidate_35905.htm Not sure why Cllr Albiston is no longer listed as Labour. I note that on Rotherham Council's website Ian Jones is now shown as a 12th member of the Rotherham Democratic Party group (the other 11 all being elected as UKIP).

Second defection of the day in Doncaster as Cllr Nikki McDonald resigns from the Labour Party (Town ward, Doncaster MBC - this is the same ward represented by former ASLEF president and Corbyn ally Tosh McDonald)
She will sit as an independent for the remainder of her term.
According to this tweet she cited Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner as one of the reasons for her resignation.

Tosh is an ASLEF activist best known for accompanying Chris Williamson on the "democracy roadshow" to try to get hardworking Labour MPs deselected. Which resulted in Chris Williamson being deselected.
