You should be delighted to see your preferred party of government expanding its lead. Given I don't have a positive preference, it's more a case of indifference. However, Labour deserve to be in this position. When Ken Clarke is expressing opinions to the left of Labour, something is wrong. That sounds pretty standard actually

No doubt. But this poll is not statistically significant for any of the parties despite the al the fuss it has created.

Sorry to read that Tony Greaves - a frequent contibutor here - has passed away. Shocked and saddened to hear this. Lord Greaves had devoted his life to politics and his beliefs. We need more like him - dedicated and honest - in all parts of the political spectrum. Someone we can respect even if we disagree with them. He could be blunt and plain speaking but it came from the heart, from deeply held beliefs and that I respect. This is a sad day when politics loses such a person.

The VI polls looked very similar to this in 1988. Similar Tory leads and a single figure third party share. Although the Greens hadn't quite taken off a la European elections at that point, and the continuity SDP were doing a little better than they are now...

The Observer seems to be spinning this as the triumph of Starmerism (with a picture of Starmer and Rayner leaning over a skip wearing marigolds).

Well, in the sense that Starmerism would appear to be not having a clear position on anything and just sitting waiting for Boris to self-destruct, they might be right 😉

Gove appears to be playing the Heseltine role, and may end up in the same ultimate position.

But there may not be any successor who has BoJo's, shall we say, "unique" appeal.

London poll.
A bit of strange polling over the last few days. Labour up in national polls, but doing poorly in regional/ constituency polls (I know the Survation ones have quite old data).
