One of the primary elections for New York City Council on Tuesday just got interesting - in District 6 (the upper west side in Manhattan), the sitting Democrat Helen Rosenthal in an utterly safe district is retiring after announcing a failed bid for City Comptroller. There are six candidates and one of the frontrunners is Zack Weiner. He's released a lot of campaign videos, but there's one which has appeared which he probably didn't want other people to see. Interestingly he's not related to Anthony Weiner. But he is the son of Eric Weiner who co-created Dora the Explorer. www.zackweiner.com/aboutZack Weiner is not a career politician. He is a WGA Screenwriter, actor and film producer. The creative process taught Zack about generating novel ideas in a collaborative way. --- He seems to be a politician living up to his promises for once!

It certainly wasn't what I expected to see!

This is the Upper West Side. I can't think it will bother this particular electorate at all. It's also over 90% Democratic so whoever gets the selection wins

I just wonder whether Arkansas has shifted too far right to elect a Clintonesque modernising Democrat?

And this is a very impressive pitch from someone with lots of proper life experience. However I think Arkansas is just no longer winnable statewide for any Democrat.

However I think Arkansas is just no longer winnable statewide for any Democrat. Not until the tribalism and partisanship starts to decrease anyway. Until relatively recently both parties could win anywhere at least in governor elections if not national ones.

I’d maybe start with decades before years!

Excellent video and pitch. He might do well, though he isn't winning Arkansas in the near future. Interesting that there is no mention of the Democratic Party.

Yes, but...EMILY's List, so, mumble mumble. We’ll wait and see but EMILY’s List don’t always follow up their endorsement with fundraising or boots on the ground.
