I have to admit I was unaware that the cause of Brexit was Germany invading Poland but rather, at least according to the Brexiteers, I thought it was more Poles invading England. "Two world wars and one world cup" has been chanted by English footy fans more often than not. You can dismiss them for whatever reason, but they vote and historical enmity towards Germany and a feeling that they are calling the shots in Europe and "bossing us around" were surely contributory factors to the leave vote. Its really quite sad that 72 years after the end of WWII you and those "Football Fans" you quote, should feel that Germany is in someway a threat to your existence and planning to dominate Europe again.

I'm not English, have no problem with the Germans (I go there every year) and voted remain. None of that stops me from recognising the motivations of the other side, even if I disagree with those motivations.
