Well they gained a seat in the neighbouring ward of Enfield Lock as well but not the same as gaining all three. The Tories had a bad election in Enfield in 2006 largely due to the Chase Farm group splitting their vote. They were actually a Trot front outfit but didn;t campaign as such and seem to have taken primarily Conservative votes (and seats)

Could do ineed but the ukip vote seems to fly all over the place in these by-elections.

I do not think the Conservatives are likely to win Enfield North again

Rapid demographic change.

The Devon result should be a bit more interesting.

I'm glad we are putting up a candidate. We will come last, but its important to show presence.

Completely agree, on election night I always feel solidarity with the Labour candidate fighting Whitney or Maidenhead.

I knew a woman who fought the old Windsor and Maidenhead seat twice. She died a couple of years back - Val Price. Stood for the NEC too but didn't get elected largely because she wouldn't run on a slate

Well not when your 'feature' on Newport ward completely ignores two of the four candidates in a ward where we gained 28% of the vote last time round, and where our candidate is particularly well known locally.
