And the part of the constituency that I have lived in for my entire life. In fact, I'm about a 5 minute walk from the Power Station. The new US embassy is also a few minutes walk from my home. If the Donald does choose to grace us with his presence early next year, I intend to take a day off work and barricade myself in until the circus moves on.
Why not just go to work - or is work nearby as well?
I work in White City so it's not particularly close. There's plans for a demo at the embassy if a visit goes ahead and I worry that, if anything kicks off, I won't be allowed back to my home when I come back from work. In that scenario, I'd rather just have the day off than risk any hassle.
A clean sweep for the Tories in Battersea didn't look so impossible a few years ago. Even Latchmere has seen a little gentrification in its owner-occupied parts and looked just about winnable for the Tories in a really good year at one point. However, in common with other wards, it has swung back to Labour quite a lot in the last few years and looks pretty safe again now.
