Trident is right (I have no partisan leaning) Labour clearly won the May election and really should continue leading the council.
The tories did abstain. We would have had trouble forming an alternative administration to labour around here after the results of the local elections, especially given the other groups we would have had to rely on for support.
A conservative who has always lived in labour areas.
According to today's Examiner the Tories will provide a 'constructive opposition'. I suspect that there's not much appetite to take the reins in Kirklees. The borough's finances are probably the worst in W.Yorks (losses via Ice Save?). We'll see if Cllr Khan presses ahead with the plan for volunteers to run village libraries.
