I am a proud member of the Conservative and Unionist Party.....please don’t call me a Communist again...or I might just call you a complete and utter wanker.... Joins the forum in a conciliatory frame of mind. But fair comment nonetheless.

This is correct. I consider myself to be a liberal and I have lived in Pennsylvania for my entire life. Us than an American context liberal or a rest of the world context liberal? Mainly American. I chose the name liberalpa because it sounds better then socdempa or something.

Should probably introduce myself. Lurker of several years on this forum, but never bothered to post. Based in Hazel Grove constituency (Marple). Not a political activist of any kind, just a bit geeky. But I support and vote liberal democrat most of the time and will be doing so again in May. Originally from Blyth Valley but moved to Manchester for uni and never left.

Hello. I have found this forum from the Atlas Talk Elections forum. I enjoy thinking about elections and election results, and was looking for something more UK based. In terms of ideology, I am generally socially liberal and politically small-c conservative - I believe it is far easier to break something good than to make it. I simply do not know enough about economics and I require a high level of understanding before I have strong views on an issue , but I am broadly moderate; in a UK context perhaps leaning right.

Now, the important question: bus stations or railways?

Or both? There was a London bus quiz in the Metro today...

The important questions relate to real ale and puns!

The biggest question is, are you from Emsworth?! If not then you must have a very well known prize-winning pig. I am afraid I am neither from Hampshire nor Shropshire; and nor am I a porcine.

I've got an announcement. This has been planned for some time. As the saying goes, "It's not you, it's me..." I've been posting here and predecessors since 2004. It's been great. This is one of the best debating/discussion/information groups in the UK. I mean, I don't actually know any others, but I assume it must be true But if the last year has taught me anything, it's that I need to spend more time interacting with friends and family. (In a sense you are family - in the sense that half of you suck and I hate being around you Just kidding! Mostly.) This means less time on the internet, and this site is most of my internet time. I've tried doing "less" time here, but the problem is that so many of you are just WRONG and need correcting...I just can't keep at "less". So like a drug that I'm addicted to, I realised some months ago that I needed to step away properly, for it to work. The timing of the Covid re-opening after this weekend, coincident with the elections last week, is the ideal red line. Some of you will be glad to see the back of me; others less so. But do all keep going. I may return in a few years, or maybe I'll glance in when something big happens. Keep putting the world to rights. I hope between you you can find a solution to the proper mess the world is in right now. Now, so long, and thanks for all the fish. The Meader Boy
