I would like to formally start this thread with my first submission of the new Warwickshire North constituency. The 2015 Warwickshire North had an electorate of 67,544 (10.23% below the electoral quota of 75,240. My submission for the new Warwickshire North has an electorate of 73,497 (2.32% below the electoral quota) and is made up of the following wards: North Warwickshire Borough CouncilArley and Whitacre, Atherstone Central, Atherstone North, Atherstone South and Mancetter, Baddesley and Grendon, Coleshill North, Coleshill South, Curdworth, Dordon, Fillongley, Hartshill, Hurley and Wood End, Kingsbury, Newton Regis and Warton, Polesworth East, Polesworth West, Water Orton Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough CouncilArbury, Bar Pool, Camp Hill, Galley Common, Kingswood I realise entirely that I could add Abbey ward and make it up to 79,080 but I believe that leaving it short of the electoral quota will allow the constituency to grow and still be as close to the quota as possible)

I would suggest that instead of one massive thread, it would be better to have a separate thread for each region / country, with the 2018 review thread being used for general discussion. Maybe BossMan can rename this thread West Midlands and then we can create threads for the other regions.

Then divide by 596 giving electoral quota of 74,769.2 - call it 74,769. Bands are down by 5% giving 71,030.7 so minimum acceptable is 71,031, and up by 5% giving 78,507.7 so maximum acceptable is 78,507. 79,080 is outside the quota

Apologies if I am missing the point, but surely single constituencies in isolation are meaningless, as they need to fit with the surrounding areas as well. I mean I could suggest a new 'Brixton' Constituency in Lambeth taking wards Brixton Hill, Coldharbour, Ferndale, Herne Hill, Larkhall, Stockwell, Tulse Hill and Vassall which is nicely in quota at 76,617 and is a great seat in isolation (it brings together similar areas, linking transport hubs etc. and has a clear 'centre' to which the wards look. However, it's not really going to be a realistic runner as the knock-on effects elsewhere are just too messy.
