My first post here, so please tell me if I've put it in the wrong place or something By-election for Tudno ward of Llandudno Town Council tomorrow (23/11/17) ARMSTRONG Rod (Green) BERTOLA Brian (Conservative) HODRIEN Carolyn (Labour) I couldn't find why the election was called, or details of the previous incumbent. Absolutely the right place Huw. I'm sure Lord Twaddleford will be along shortly to give some local insight. Nice to see a Green standing in Llandudno. I don't suppose that has happened that often.

Welcome Huw Pritchard . I had already posted about this (and another by-election in Abergele, taking place the following week) on the previous page of this thread. In addition to that, there is also a by-election to the Abergele Town Council, Gele Ward, occuring a week later. Notice of ElectionStatement of Persons NominatedI'm unsure what exactly the details behind the Abergele vacancy are, but I do know that the Llandudno vacancy is due to the death of an independent member. From what I've read, the Tudno vacancy was caused by the passing of Councillor Billy Evans (Independent). The Llandudno Town Council website did briefly post a notice about this, but it doesn't appear to be up any more. Either way, if you cross reference the 2017 election results with current listings, you can see that Mr Evans is no longer a sitting member of the Llandudno Town Council.

No numbers yet, but: Ambridge PC (unwarded), Borsetshire: Grundy win by 3 after a recount
Going from my earlier guess of an electorate of 200, and a turnout of say 15%, that's: Grundy, Emma: 18 - 55% Snell, Robert: 15 - 45%

Declaration in Borsetshire was at the unusually early hour of 19:10.
Turnout was double that of last time.
Majority would have been just 1 had Snell not voted for his opponent Grundy!

Ambridge has a much larger population due to developments such as Grange Spinney, Glebelands and so on. Inkberrow in Worcestershire has an electorate of 1,762; Ambridge is smaller but over 1,000 is possible given that it includes some houses outside the village itself. We hear the turnout has increased (presumably the previous election was 2015 at the same time as the South Borsetshire DC election). A good turnout for a parish byelection would be somewhere in the 30s. So I would say the result was approximately: Emma GRUNDY (no description) 224 Robert SNELL (Independent) 221

Still looking for official results figures for the Llandudno TC by-election in Tudno ward, but from what little I've found it would seem that Conservative candidate Brian Bertola has won.
Like I said, still awaiting the official figures.
Bertola had previously served on the Llandudno Town Council for Tudno ward as an independent, and had likewise sat on the Aberconwy District Council back in the 1970s to until the authority's dissolution in the mid 1990s.
