There is a proposal to parish the whole of Swindon. Currently there is a mixture of parish councils and an unparished area, the later covers the original town of Swindon & West Swindon. There are a number of the urban areas that are parished, as the town expanded into the Parish's boundaries.
It will mainly affect the centre of the town, both sides of the railway line,West Swindon & the area between the town centre & the M4

First thought is that urban parishes can work and be popular, and should be easier to set up. But if someone comes up with a plan to put everywhere into parishes it means they are forced onto areas which don't have any interest in them. Easy to find that discredits the whole scheme.
