Earlier coverage of the 1994 Euro results: Confusion about how they calculated the swing started at 31:44 onwards; Charles Kennedy complaining at at 53:43 and John Redwood at 54:50. Aww what a shame, would love to see this

Don’t ask Andrew s he wouldn’t help anybody That's not fair. Everybody here tries to help, where reasonable, and fair, and opportunity allows. It's not always possible to provide what you demand.

Don’t ask Andrew s he wouldn’t help anybody I must leap to Andy's defence here. He's been very helpful with uploading videos of past elections coverage. And it looks like you haven't tagged him which makes it far more unlikely he will have seen your demands. Andrew_S

What a curious person. Could a moderator delete the drivel above please? Unfortunately this particular Richard is someone who comes across with a sense of entitlement, which does not engender co-operation.

Back in the glory days when you could actually transfer things from Sky+ to either a video or a DVD, myself and Andrew_S would often send and recieve videos of elections, indeed I still have on DVD every election that BBC Parliament showed from 1955 to 1997, however since that scheme was scrapped in favour of streaming it has become every difficult indeed to save elections, and following the decision of BBC Parliament to simulcast BBC News during recess (meaning that for three hours every weekday during a parliamentary recess, you have three channels showing the same thing) it has become almost impossible. Therefore, as there is a feeling of anger towards people (quite unjustified I believe) may I make a suggestion (and here is AI to help with that suggestion): Subject: Proposal for BBC Election Channel Subscription Service
Dear [Head of BBC News and Current Affairs Department],
I hope this letter finds you well. As a dedicated follower of BBC News and someone deeply interested in the democratic process, I wanted to share a proposal that I believe could serve as a viable source of revenue for the BBC, particularly in times of financial strain. It's no secret that the BBC, like many media organizations, faces challenges in securing sustainable funding streams. In light of this, I propose the creation of a BBC Election Channel, a subscription-based service available online.
The concept is simple: users would pay a nominal fee of one pound per hour of coverage to stream archived elections dating back to 1955. Additionally, users could opt to purchase downloads of election coverage at a rate of ten pounds per hour of coverage, allowing them to access and view the content at their convenience on their personal devices. For example, a user could choose to stream the 1955 election for £3, or opt to purchase the February 1974 election for £160. This pricing model would provide flexibility for users while generating revenue for the BBC.
The BBC boasts an extensive archive of election coverage, which holds immense historical and educational value. By offering this content through a subscription service, the BBC can tap into a niche market of enthusiasts, historians, and students eager to explore the political landscape of the past. Moreover, the BBC Election Channel could serve as a valuable resource for educators, providing a comprehensive tool for teaching about the electoral process and political history.
I believe this initiative aligns with the BBC's mission to inform, educate, and entertain, while also addressing the need for innovative revenue streams. Furthermore, it leverages the BBC's unique position as a trusted source of news and archival content. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this proposal further and provide additional insights into its potential benefits and implementation. Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this matter.
Yours sincerely,

Channel 4 panel for the upcoming general election is Emily Maitlis, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Alistair Campbell, Rory Stewart, Cathy Newman, Clare Balding and "Googlebox stars". www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crgy7p8dn19oIt's bad when Clare Balding is the most bearable of a group of half a dozen or more people. The panel will likely be larger than the audience it gets.

Mind you, all of those are arguably preferable to Laura K - who is becoming the Beeb's answer to Marcus Rashford.
