Yeah, sure, there are seats where they always vote Tory. We know that. What in fuck's name possessed anyone to elect Tim Yeo I have no idea?
Creagh is a crap MP. Her predecessor was a good one.
We have had a Labour MP since 1932 and a Labour council since 1974. I don't think the District Auditor rated High Wycombe as the third worst council in Britain. I doubt they used term like....and I quote:
"Gross mismanagement and incompetence" when speaking about the housing department
"The finance department fails to adhere to proper professional standards"
It gave Social services No Stars out of four.
What did the people of the Wakefield District do?
Voted them all back in again.....but that was more our fault than anyone elses. We didn't put up enough candidates. But it did change. By 2009 it was technically in NOC after a councillor died. Why are we back down to a handful of councillors....well that's another matter which I could spend an hour explaining.....and it is our fault.
Oh believe me Wycombe was an absolute nightmare when run by Richard Holt - he then managed to get himself elected to Parliament in the 83 landslide for a seat in the northeast.
One of our local Tories actually resigned and said that he had never had to work with such a useless bunch of people.
But as you say it takes a very odd situation to change anything in a safe area.
