I suspect that the only reason she wasn't axed years ago was for fear she would force a by-election as a sort of reverse Taverne. They probably hoped that she would retire or die.
I think we are accidentally misunderstanding each other. Vauxhall Labour Party have had, in Kate Hoey, an idiosyncratic MP for many, many years, and they have lived with it. Her association with the Countryside Alliance I personally find distasteful and I think she's crackers over the subject of fox-hunting, smoking etc. However, what I find so amazing is that Vauxhall CLP wait EIGHT MONTHS from the referendum before deciding to hang her out to dry on the subject of her support for Brexit. On this matter I think Labour Party activists in the metropolitan areas just can't get their heads around the views of what must be many Labour voters outside the big urban centres who concluded that the EU is an unwieldy institution with little apparent benefit to their everyday lives. Many others, such as myself, possibly made the final choice on which way to vote as a protest against Cameron and Osborne's proposed 'revenge' Budget: a 'protest' vote, if you like.
