Of those who entered the non-competition for Dover, I think Tony Otim would have won narrowly from greenhert. I would I think have been second worst, in keeping with the sort of night it looks like being anyway

Dover's by-election was a district council by-election (not a town or parish council by-election) so it should have been included in the prediction competition spreadsheet for this week. Why was this not the case?

Congratulations to Toylyyev on another brilliant week, consolidating his leadership in a busy and difficult month.
I'm surprised to realise I had somehow got a third place for the week as the feeling I had was that everything was going wrong and I would be somewhere near the bottom of the pile. Perhaps a lot of others were feeling the same? Of course having Dover as being off piste was helpful for me at least, less so for Greenhert or Tony!
And of course always worth losing a few prediction points to get a brilliant unpredicted result in Fortune Green.

Why was this not the case? It was not included in time to fit the rules of the competition - missed first by Tony and then by Robbie until the deadline had passed. There was a post from Robbie to that effect and a number of players chose not to submit an entry, while some did so in a rather casual manner on the whatthehellwhynot basis. However you have been identified as the winner in the one-off competition that resulted, so some compensation!

I was not previously aware of the "12 day rule" primarily because district/borough/county/unitary by-elections are generally spotted well before that rule would come into play.
