I doubt he'll take such a Cavalier attitude to work in future And that's the Long and Short of it. Can you try and keep a civil tongue in your head please?

Can you try and keep a civil tongue in your head please? Yes, no Rump-us here. And try to keep it to just the Barebones of the matter.

It's what happens perhaps when Anglophones muck about with nice Gaelic names.

she actually left before this report was leaked but one of the staffers mentioned in this report was handling a complaint that was made against her during the last General election when she shortlisted in St Albans. It was a shortlist of four with Mumtaz and herself from St Albans, a lady from the Luton Airport Expansion board and the cllr from Southwark who eventually became the candidate. Amazingly the delegates on the NEC & Region settled for the lady from the Luton Airport expansion board first and when she turned it down they then went for the cllr in Southwark. This is despite members telling the NEC & Region they didn't want either. When she called to find out this had happened this staffer told her about the complaint. They reeled off what the complaint said and when asked she asked if she could read it to herself but she was told no and was told she'd have to contact complaints. She said they were incredibly rude and the whole experience was humiliating, and wasn't prepared to herself through it again next May for the county elections. To top it all off when she told her colleagues that she was resigning they said 'please don't we'll lose 2 committee positions'. After 32 on council she says she's felt used and she's had enough.

With one twin hatter, I make that five councillors that Labour are down due to reasons other than death, since Starmer became Labour leader. Three defections, one suspension and one resignation.

Cosham Conservative Councillor Lee Mason has been suspended from his group on Portsmouth City Council. Still trying to find out the details.

Beginning to wonder if Starmer is unlucky. He’s certainly gained the leadership of the Labour Party in sub-optimal conditions, he’s presided over continuing internal strife and he’s losing councillors to defections unusually quickly. None of these things is in any way his fault, of course, which is why I wonder whether he lacks that most important but illusive of political commodities: luck.

There must be some unwind as those who joined Labour for Corbynomics go elsewhere. But who will provide their new home? The Greens, some Trot sects, or (most likely) nobody?

I know at least one former Green who joined Labour and has now quit again. That cohort is surely the most likely to do a runner.

My mistake, it is six councillors Starmer has lost in his first 11 days as Labour leader, for reasons other than death. Sadly, I think he has lost three through death. Willie Doolan, North Lanarkshire. Gone Independent. Roma Mills, Herts CC and St Albans DC. Gone Independent. Sheila Oakes, Amber Valley. Suspended after vile Boris tweets. Tom Rhilly, Hackney. Resigned. Deepak Sagha, North Herts DC. Resigned.
