Havering is obviously planning something, what with the four separate residents' groups (it was only three before the election in May). Well I wish they would hurry up about it, and stop havering ...

Newcastle was one group originally elected as UKIP (Newcastle Independents), one who were a combination of a Green, a genuine Independent and a Lib Dem who defected to Labour before resigning due to Jeremy Corbyn’s anti Trident position (Borough Independents), and a group who quit Labour after one of their members wasn’t reselected ahead of last year’s County elections (Kidsgrove Independents). After May the Newcastle Indies were wiped out, the Borough Indies got two out of three and the Kidsgrove Indies one who has joined the Borough Indies, plus one who came from nowhere and, as far as I can see, is a genuine Indie. This is not correct. 3 Borough Independents were re-elected. No Kidsgrove Independents were elected and the Newcastle Independents disappeared from the ballot papers altogether. I was going from memory, never a good idea, and thought Bert Proctor stood as a Kidsgrove Indie; he was certainly endorsed by them as there was some chatter about how far outside Kidsgrove/Talke his Ward was.

That would be the Yorkshire Party's second councillor, yes? They have one on Hambleton District Council.

I guess both district council seats are up for election next year. Will be interesting to see if the Yorkshire Party can hold these or even make any other gains in 2019.

There's been a second Plaid resignation this week. Nigel Copner who's the party's treasurer and former candidate in Blaenu Gwent has left the party. www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-44929356He was 650 votes away from a shock win in 2016 and helped the party get their best ever result in Blaenu Gwent in the 2017 GE. Plaid really are falling apart.

Plaid really are falling apart. That sound you hear in the distance is me playing the world's smallest violin.

I used to sell 1/16-size violins but I think there's a 1/32-size available for very tiny tots I believe so. I think we had a 1/8 size when my son started Suzuki classes (he didn't last, and switched to the bassoon later). Long ago I started on a 1/2 size, progressing through 3/4 size to full-size. I now play the viola. Are you still involved in the business?

Not defections (yet) but at Taunton Deane BC, Ian Morrell ( Independent, ex Conservative) is attempting to garner a position for a vote of no confidence in the council leader. This article lists Councillor Alison Gunner ( Con, Bishops Lydeard) who has been deselected saying that she’d like to see the Conservatives lose, And that she won’t be voting Conservative Councillors Dave Durdan and Kelly Durdan ( both Conservative, Ruishton and Creech) are planning to contest their highly marginal ward as Independents. www.somersetcountygazette.co.uk/news/16376387.ian-morrells-petition-of-no-confidence-in-taunton-deane-leader-john-williams/

Bognor Regis Labour town councillor Damien Enticott has been suspended by the Labour Party, for some quite appalling remarks insulting "Talmud Jews" (whatever the hell that means) and calling for them to be executed. He's claiming that he was hacked & didn't make the remarks. If he has genuinely said that it seems inconceivable that he won't be expelled from the party. One must have sympathy. He seems to have been hacked on multiple occasions over the past three years to make him look like someone who kept on posting vicious antisemitic stuff.

Serial bad luck like that is apt to give people the wrong impression, isn't it? I'm sure he will be taking action to ensure it doesn't happen again, won't he? Norton or McAfee protection isn't really that expensive, is it?

Norton or McAfee protection isn't really that expensive, is it? You know, if you're really intent on infecting your computer with crippling malware, wouldn't just be cheaper to click on one of those dodgy links you get in spam emails?

The Labour candidate for Bude in Cornwall was trolling attacks on Margaret Hodge the other day and he, and the local party, only copy things from Jews in favour Jeremy Corbyn...the "good Jews?" Really not loving my party right now.
