He is a latter day Luke Bozier (in the political sense only).

I know I'm not the most finger on the pulse kind of guy, but I have never heard of him, which may indicate the likely impact on those less engaged in politics

Who are we even talking about. He is something of a Twitter "personality", apparently.

Wait, the Tab is still a thing? And expanding its tendrils much further than they used to be, clearly.

Ralph Cook left Labour in January 2016, and joined the Green Party in April 2016 - so some time before the selections started.

When I looked on Cardiff Greens website a month or so ago you could see they were targetting other ward(s) but no mention of Trowbridge despite him being the sitting councillor there and the Greens not having councillors otherwise. That may or not may be relevant, but I thought it a bit odd at the time.

(I assume the Cardiff Greens follow the rule that defectors can't sit in (or be) a Green group until after being elected as Greens?)

If he has joined the Lib Dems sounds as if they got it right....

The decision to remain independent on the council was probably his own. Its policy for SGP but not GPEW, but i guess Cardiff greens could have their own local policy.

A Brighton councillor has just hit the road from Labour, not sure where he's going though.

It's normal custom to identify the individual on here. The defector is Michael Inkpin-Leissner, he's opposed to the Corbyn leadership, and it looks likely he will sit as an Independent.

Not at all - I think this is actually someone who is above all else, a Europhile, and he cannot come to terms with Labour's acceptance of the referendum outcome

Well, surely the SPD will ally with Liberal Democrats soon, like they did in France (Schulz supports Macron over the PS).
