Well, it could start in about an hour in certain places as some of the DOM/TOM's are voting today so that they are not influenced by the exit polls from the Hexagon and, of course, over in Noumea, the polls will open in about 25 minutes.
However, excluding the DOM/TOM, in general the polls close at 20h, Paris time.

He has a point although I'm minded by a tweet from Dan Hannan: "All ten French presidential candidates, including Marine Le Pen, are to the Left of Ed Miliband on economics." Its always nigh impossible to support anyone in French politics (apart from Philippe de Villiers of course)
I understand from Le Soir (of Bruxelles) that they will be putting up the first results on twatter. I understand they can be found on there as #premiersresultats @lesoir and will be using the hashtag #premiersresultats.
