What are these criminal activities we've all been involved in?

The sympathy of MS5 towards the League just confirms to me that the former are dodgy populists and not really progressives at all.

you'd think they might have noticed what happened to Renzi when he tried that....

The sympathy of MS5 towards the League just confirms to me that the former are dodgy populists and not really progressives at all. I wouldn't call it sympathy. They have to do a deal with someone if they are going to be in power (which they had previously eschewed). They have a choice between the abusive Lega, and its arrogant leader, or the Euro-quislings of the PD... They hate Renzi and he'll be out and a bunch of other PD politicians have gone down the garbage chute of history. Maybe the rump they can stomach (and dare I say, control). A government where the PD ex-ministers are put in charge of non-EU facing ministries (railways, basket-weaving, tourism & sports) would be suitably Machiavellian. Despite the clown-faction there are Machiavellians in the MS5.

It reminds me of when SYRIZA joined the Greek eurosceptic right in coalition. It was compared to if the SWP and UKIP did a deal

It's a little bit like the useful idiots who were into Assange. They saw him as a stick to beat the Right with, and then watched in horror as he turned out to not be a Lefty hero at all!
